RoomTeams is the name of a really social media application that has still to be developed, according to an idea by Thijs Bollen.

Double the fun by physical togetherness

RoomTeams can best be seen as a kind of TikTok that will bring people physically together and encourages ethical development. The trick is that every device needs more than one person physically at hand to enable swiping and creating content. So the face detection of the phone's camera (not the face-ID) has to detect (not identify) more than one face to allow application entrance. (There will be a separate module that helps to look for new mates). The other difference with TikTok is that content can be graded, in any creative way, but again, only by groups, which makes the grading a piece of content itself. The algoritm for ranking and therefore the showing up of content will be fully transparently and depending on the grades received. Grades will automatically (but transparently) be raised when your content contains reasoned explanations/comments.
